INDUSTRIAL FILTERS

Volume Filter VF-2

Description

Highly efficient two step cascade filtration, independent of flow rate. For larger roof areas where underground installation is desired utilizing a pre-cast concrete manhole or vault. Typically, 1000 mm (40-inch) diameter pre-cast concrete vaults are used.

Due to the steep inclination of the filter cartridge the debris are continuously carried away with each rain event. The outlet pipe is connected at the base of the pre-cast vault wall. The debris fall down to the bottom of the vault and are carried out downstream. The filtered water is conveyed into the storage tank.

Relative connection capacity for roof areas up to 9,000 ft². A bypass-installation is also available for larger roof areas.

Max. Flow Rate Sieve insert 3.0 /sec = 10.8 m³ (14.12 ft³) filtered water per hour.

Rainwater Inlet: 200 mm (8-inches)
Outlet into tank: 150 mm (6-inches)
Outlet into waste stream: 200 mm (8-inches)
Height difference between inlet and outlet 320 mm (12.6-inches).

Depending on the amount of debris loading, the filter only has to be inspected 1 – 2 times during the year. During inspection cleaning may be necessary.

How it works

  1. As water arrives the level builds up and overtops the filter lip, so ensuring it is distributed evenly across the whole width of the filter cascade.
  2. Pre cleaning through the cascades. Largest dirt particles are led across the primary filter cascades directly to the sewer.
  3. Pre filtered water then flows over the secondary filter sieve (Mesh size 0.4 x 1 mm or 0.02 x .04 Inches). Due to the special mesh structure of the sieve, any dirt falls directly down onto the bottom of the shaft. In case of heavy rainfalls, the filter has more loss, as the water washes away the filtered dirt into the sewer.
  4. The cleaned water is being absorbed in the lower tank and directed through a tube DN 150 into the storage.
  5. Dirt goes to the sewer through the shaft.
